Red Lion Cottage

At Red Lion Cottage, the principal works involved the restoration of a timber and brick barn, together with the introduction of a new drainage system and the laying of a traditional cobbled courtyard.

The courtyard in question flooded during the winter months, so a new drainage system was installed to control the maximum water level to prevent flooding to the courtyard and barn areas.

The courtyard itself being 140 m2, was laid using natural limestone sets, laid to fall and traditionally fitted.

The barn was converted to provide modern day standards of insulation, and to accommodate a cinema, rhumpus room, and office together with a kitchen area on the first floor.

The fit out included five pairs of bespoke drawers and seven pairs of doors, built into the entire length of the building for storage.

Access is via a traditional oak staircase. A ground floor space provided garaging measuring 30M x 6M in two areas with square slim fit, low energy light fittings, with specialised painted floors.

An additional barn was built with roller shutter doors for the storage of tractors and other garden equipment.
