Site Management

Building Control

A provisional meeting is arranged on site with our site manager the appointed Building Control officer to discuss the project.  These cover:

  • Ground conditions and location of trees for foundation depths

  • The position of services for use during construction

  • The method of construction and material types

  • The type of heat source to be used and its location

  • Engineering works and structural design.

  • Fowl and storm water systems.

Once the principals are established then a series of visits are arranged during the course of the build, to check the construction and methods used.

Site Planning

Once the specifics of the works have been established then a Program of Works is produced for the benefit of the clients and the site manager.

Good, economic building is all about planning and timing.

In order to achieve this the site manager must stick to the program if the works are to be completed on time and on budget.

It is therefore vitally important that the clients makes decisions before the deadlines are reached on the program.  Failure to do so will always impact the construction cost and time of build

Site Supervision

On each site our site manager will attend all meetings on site dealing the main issues of the site.

This will include:

  • Building Control staged visits

  • Listing Buildings visits, if appropriate

  • Land contamination surveys and the removal of material

Our site manager will be on site every day to ensure work is carried out in accordance with the agreed program and to the correct standard.

For economic reasons, site managers are not present for the whole day.  there is however, always a senior man on site who takes control in the absence of the site manager.
